Here is a little more information about us:

We grew up in the suburbs of Orange County, however after we got married we bought our current house in Southwest Riverside County (Southern California). We wanted to get away from the area we grew up in, and where we live now was much more affordable. No kids… yet! We both work full-time and commute around an hour both ways in opposite directions and in completely different counties! Unfortunately, this means we don’t have as much time to homestead as we would like. But we make the best of it, and will hopefully someday be in a more desirable situation.

My husband Nic works as a Maintenance Technician for a City and I work for a large Title Insurance Company. It’s been a huge blessing having Nic be the amazing handy-man that he is, because he can basically build or fix anything, which has made it much easier for us to homestead. From renovations on our home to building our chicken coop, we couldn’t have done it so cost-effectively without his skills.
